Images from our latest workshop titled ‘Flowing with Nature’ in Friesland, The Netherlands.  I collaborated with Marielle Van Dop to combine nature connection & spontaneous creative expression on July 14th.  What an amazing day we had in this very special environment in Holland.

New workshops in Findhorn coming soon!

I’ve completed my latest painting titled ‘Desert Heart’.  The idea for this painting came a few years ago now and has emerged quite differently that I originally planned from initial sketches.  But I like the ‘sparseness’ of it.  It’s much more simple and symbolic that the original ideas and a smaller size too.  That’s what I love about storytelling though, whether it’s through painting, writing, singing or poetry, it all starts with a spark of an idea and it’s a journey that emerges once you begin, you may have an idea of the end result, but it’s never exactly the same… gotta leave room for interpretation in the moment I think!

I’m currently exhibiting a small collection of 10 pieces of handmade jewellery a the Milton of Crathes Gallery in Royal Deeside.

It’s a gorgeous little gallery opposite Crathes Castle and beside the river Dee.

The exhibition is by local artists (including my Dad, the painter Ian R. Cormack!) and runs until 14th November.

Pop by and check it out this week if you can!

I thought I’d share some images from last Sunday 26th September where I tutored two jewellery design workshops at the Edinburgh Bead Fair in Edinburgh.  Workshops took place at the Corn Exchange.

The first workshop was titled ‘Natures Gems’ in which I taught participants to create beautiful jewells using sea glass and sea worn ceramic, re-cycling with the help of Mother Nature!

And the afternoons class was about ‘Reuse, Renew, Recycle’, I taught participants how to make funky jewellery by re-cycling postcards, magazines and incorporating words…

Hey there,

I’ve decided to have a spring sale in my Etsy store to freshen things up!  I’m offering a 10% discount on all items in my store (except the postcards) all through March & April 2010!

I always get that feeling when the weather starts improving and things begin to grow, that’s it’s time to freshen things up in life.

It’s a time of new growth, fresh buds of hope, a bit of watery sunshine, holidays, easter eggs and my birthday!  And of course, individual and unique jewellery and art with special easter discounts!

Enjoy 🙂  Jane Alexandra Cormack, Natural, Eco-Friendly Design

I’ve just listed two original art works in my Etsy online store!  These art works incorporate a recycled element utilising glass chips, diamante, faux pearls and maps.

This painting ‘The World In my Heart’ represents my time spent in Australia, journeys taken and my love of the land there.

‘When The World Spoke….I Listened’ is a map collage piece featuring the world once again with a large pink flower sprouting from it.  This piece was also made whilst I lived in Australia.

Here are some images of the art market I took part in on 5th December in Edinburgh- the lighting was minimal and I ended up feeling like the sun was setting on me with this big amber light shining down on my stall from the balcony.  I also took part in the market on the 12th December too but didn’t take my camera that time!

A selection of one of a kind jewells are now available to purchase from a brick & mortar venue in Edinburgh!
