I’m currently exhibiting a small collection of 10 pieces of handmade jewellery a the Milton of Crathes Gallery in Royal Deeside.

It’s a gorgeous little gallery opposite Crathes Castle and beside the river Dee.

The exhibition is by local artists (including my Dad, the painter Ian R. Cormack!) and runs until 14th November.

Pop by and check it out this week if you can!

I thought I’d share some images from last Sunday 26th September where I tutored two jewellery design workshops at the Edinburgh Bead Fair in Edinburgh.  Workshops took place at the Corn Exchange.

The first workshop was titled ‘Natures Gems’ in which I taught participants to create beautiful jewells using sea glass and sea worn ceramic, re-cycling with the help of Mother Nature!

And the afternoons class was about ‘Reuse, Renew, Recycle’, I taught participants how to make funky jewellery by re-cycling postcards, magazines and incorporating words…

Workshop 2 will take place at 3.30pm – 5pm and is called ‘Reuse, Renew, Recycle’.  This workshop will make use of recycling business cards, postcards, photos, magazine cuttings and excerpts of poetry to create unique and funky earrings and pendants.  Workshop cost ~ £25

Hey there,

I’ve decided to have a spring sale in my Etsy store to freshen things up!  I’m offering a 10% discount on all items in my store (except the postcards) all through March & April 2010!

I always get that feeling when the weather starts improving and things begin to grow, that’s it’s time to freshen things up in life.

It’s a time of new growth, fresh buds of hope, a bit of watery sunshine, holidays, easter eggs and my birthday!  And of course, individual and unique jewellery and art with special easter discounts!

Enjoy 🙂  Jane Alexandra Cormack, Natural, Eco-Friendly Design

Here are some images of the art market I took part in on 5th December in Edinburgh- the lighting was minimal and I ended up feeling like the sun was setting on me with this big amber light shining down on my stall from the balcony.  I also took part in the market on the 12th December too but didn’t take my camera that time!

I’ll be taking part in the Christmas Arts Market this Saturday with a stall selling my unique jewellery and accessories, greetings cards and artwork.  There will be lots of beautiful products on sale so come along for  a mulled wine!  See below for further information.

This years NEOS open studios week has come around pretty fast!  It really doesn’t feel that long since I was exhibiting at Mill Farm near Kemnay last year.

This year I will have my work on show at St Marys Church, High Street in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire.  I’ll be exhibiting alongside around 17 other artists and designers including my Dad Ian R. Cormack and his paintings.

Open studios will begin on Sunday 12th September this year and run for the whole week until Monday 21st.  It’s a great chance to visit the studios, homes and work spaces of the bevvy of talent nestling around the north east coasts of Scotland.

For further information and opening times for Art at st Marys Church check out the NEOS link here:

I’ll have my individual jewellery pieces on display as well as handmade greetings cards and original artwork, all available for purchase at affordable prices.

A selection of one of a kind jewells are now available to purchase from a brick & mortar venue in Edinburgh!

Still editing poetry for my dissertation for Uni…..only one month to go now!

I was rather pleased that ShopBug decided to select my online Etsy store as ‘shop of the week’  this July- Thank you Shop bug!  ShopBugs blog is a shopping blog about shopping tips, experiences and new design.

To read my interview and to see images of my work that ShopBug has featured in her article, follow this link: http://theshopbug.blogspot.com/2009/07/shop-of-week-jane-alexandra-cormack.html  and read July’s issue of ‘Shop of the Week- Jane Alexandra Cormack’.

Well, life has been super busy lately so I’m finally getting round to saying hello in my blog again!!  This time I’m taking part in a local Art exhibition.  It’s in Banchory which is up by Royal Deeside in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.  I took part in this exhibition last year too which was successful and popular!  I can’t believe it’s come around again so quickly.

I’m exhibiting twelve specific pieces of individually handmade jewellery displayed in a hand-made wall mounted picture frame and an antique jewellery display box.

The exhibition is open from Saturday 18th July until Sunday 26th from 10am to 6pm daily and until 5pm on the last day.

The title of the exhibition is ‘Homecoming Scotland’ and so I have decided to exhibit pieces that include Scottish sea glass and shells.  I’ve had many ‘homecomings’ to Scotland since I’ve travelled a lot.  It is one of the most beautiful countries in the world!

Banchory is a lovely Scottish town and ‘The Sheiling’ sells the best homemade cakes and fine pieces!  I had lunch there with my Australian friend last week who was visiting Scotland for the first time.  She had a huge cinnamon scone! yum

Here’s a few sample of my jewellery that will be on display…
